He worked efficiently and paid attention to every detail, making sure everything was done perfectly. Wanted to share our experience with R&B Plumbing & Heating from yesterday's visit by technician Scott. Our mini split heat pump started blowing warm air on the ac setting last fall and decided the unit needed recharging. After calling Sally in the morning for an appointment the next day, she called several hours later saying they had an opening that same day. Scott arrived as scheduled and wasted no time in diagnosing the issue, charged the system, and checked for leaks. After completed service, we now have cold air blowing. Scott didn't try to sell anything that didn't need fixing, unlike other northshore hvac companies who just want to install brand new units to make more money. Heat pump Installation by R&B: We had a great experience with this company from start to finish. They were very thorough in assessing the exact cooling requirements based on the size and layout of our home, which gave us confidence that we were getting the right solution. They provided quotes for different indoor units so that we could compare and choose what would work best for us. The installation was scheduled promptly. The time line for the work was completed on time. The crew, Malcolm and Hesam were outstanding … professional, detail oriented and respectful of our space. They also worked to best meet the strata needs that were outlined to them. The work was done carefully and everything was kept clean throughout the process. We were very pleased with R&B right from the initial phone call that I made to them. I received their name as a recommended vendor from our Strata. They booked a free estimate appointment and provided detailed quotes on three different products on time. They were prepared to answer any questions we had in a timely manner. As our furnace was not working, we asked for portable heaters to get us through until the installation of the furnace. They provided us with four heaters to keep us warm for about 2 weeks. On both days of installation, the installers arrived on time, were very efficient and kept the work area clean. They completed on time as promised. Overall, I have no hesitation, in giving R&B an excellent rating - they were professional, courteous and are great at what they do. ~ Shelly T

The plumbing technician who replaced my garbage disposal with a basket strainer this afternoon was very friendly and thorough. He was good enough to explain what he was doing at every step of the way. He also answered the few questions I had afterwards and anticipated a few other questions in my mind, such as whether it was necessary for the basket strainer on the other side of the sink to be replaced. All in all, he made me glad I made that service request. If I hadn't have done that, I never would have noticed the water leakage from the garbage disposal that he noticed. My timing couldn't have been more perfect, since he removed the disposal before any water could have gotten to the wires and caused more than plumbing issues. ~ Vince C

After my family recently moved into a new home, we were met with a challenge of one of the showers suddenly expolded! Handle blew off, and hot water was shooting straight out! With a quick call to R&B, Sam came and replaced the older shower valve, handle, and tub spout with new. Thankfully we were left with a new working shower, that is very necessary in this heat wave. Then, a couple days later, our kitchen sink blocked. Despite our efforts to solve the problem on our own, the clog stayed clogged...R&B to the rescue again! Again Sam came and solved the issue, quickly, cleanly, and professionally. Thank you to R&B and their excellent team for helping my family settle into our new (older house) home. ~ Kaleb H

We have used R&B to service our furnace for the past 5 years or so. We’ve been very pleased with their work, so when R&B told us that BC Hydro would provide us with a substantial grant to install a heat pump to replace our older gas furnace, we were very interested. It was a significant investment, and my wife and I assessed our options carefully before making the decision to go ahead. The R&B team was very patient with us, explaining the details. They even allowed me to visit an existing installation to get answers to some of my questions. Malcolm and his installation team were extremely professional. Everything was done in a first class manner with genuine care and professionalism. Today I called for a plumber to come and inspect our furnace to see it there was a problem with the heating or water. Hooman, our technician, was quick and efficient in both checking our furnace and water heater, as well as showing us a few ins and outs of general home matienance . We've had one of the companies employees look at our washing machine a few years back, and we were just as satisfied with their work then as we were today. I would highly recommend this company for a good, efficient fix on your home plumbing or appliances. They work fast, show up when they're called, and they are as professional as they are polite. In the middle of the recent snowfall in Vancouver, my furnace stopped working, I reached out to R&B and from our first encounter I could tell they cared about their clients. They have an amazing admin staff that reposnded to request with care and urgency. The technician sent was extremely knowledgeable, fast and responsible. He was able to also identify a water leakage issue while he was at my place which was not part of his agreement and for that I am grateful. After many years of operation our fire place insert stopped working. Todd worked with tech support to diagnose the problem and create a repair plan. It took a couple site visits to see it through as there were multiple problems but we are happy to once again have our fire place back in operation through the winter season. Thanks Todd. Although 5 star rating overall, some extra follow up was required with office to initiate ordering of parts and get site visits scheduled. R&B accommodated my request to install parts on hand prior to Christmas break but upon arrival to site Todd quickly determined that plan wouldn’t work and R&B waived the call out charge. You can tell a professional company by the way they deal with clients on the phone. The receptionist asked detailed questions about our plumbing problem in addition to a series of Covid19-related questions to ensure the safety of their staff and the home owner. I was VERY impressed with the service. R&B came the next day on schedule and fixed the blockage within the minimum chargeable timeframe. The young plumber was very competent and friendly and walked us through the solution to our blockage which we've had no issues with since. Overall a very pleasant experience in these complicated times! ~ David

Rob and his team at R&B Plumbing and Heating are the absolute best company I have worked with. As a contractor, I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of work, value and punctuality of their team. I have worked with many Plumbing and Heating companies over the past 8 years, but none of them come close to R&B. They can handle any job large or small. The attention to detail, punctuality and just general knowledge of anything to do with Plumbing, HVAC or Gas is second to none. Now I only use R&B for all of my projects. Top notch! Richard arrived promptly and was personable and efficient while working. He removed our old toilet, installed the new one, and took care of a leak under our kitchen sink in two hours time. I had called one of their competitors first and was quoted $360 just for the toilet, with the leak requiring a separate quote. I paid $230 and got both jobs, so I saved over $130. Moreover, Richard took the time to explain exactly what he was doing and what I could do in the future to prevent similar problems (and hopefully avoid any plumbing bill at all). ~ Clayton M

We called R&B to fix a leak behind our washer/dryer set. They were able to come quickly, figure out the issue, and schedule the repair for later that week. When Tony came back to start and complete the leak behind the washer we discovered an unrelated pin hole leak . Tony had no problem tracking the second leak. Fixed it in record time and did it all with a smile. Even though he got covered in mouse poop and insulation he never complained, always had a smile and made time to explain all the work he did. We had an excellent experience with R&B Plumbing and Heating. We wanted a heatpump to replace our old furnace. Rob recommended a hybrid heatpump/gas furnace for our older home which we are very pleased with. Everyone arrived exactly when we were told they would. Will did a very professional job of installing the heatpump, furnace and Ecobee thermostat system. And finally Sally did a fablous job of sending us all the required documents for the goverment rebates, which anybody that has gone through the process can confirm that there are many. Our bathtub wasn't draining the water at all. We called them at about 9am on a Friday, and they had a guy out to our house at 1pm that same day. Trevor was awesome! He fixed the drain quickly and showed us what was wrong with it. He also answered all of our questions about drain maintenance. He was very friendly and courteous and we appreciated that so much. He also took off his shoes when entering our home which is always a huge plus! We will absolutely be calling them again for our future plumbing needs and would be more than happy to have it be Trevor, again. ~ Jess D

We recently used R & B for plumbing work at our home, and we were very impressed with their professionalism, communication, and quality of work. Sam initially came in to work on the mains water line and did very clean, careful, and tidy work. While on site, he also identified an additional concern with our water heater setup and recommended that their Technical Manager, Malcolm, take a look. Malcolm provided clear, practical, and very helpful technical guidance. He explained the situation in plain terms and helped us understand the available options and recommended approach. Hasem carried out the resulting work, and we were extremely satisfied with his workmanship as well. He handled a challenging job with care and good judgment, kept us closely informed throughout, and completed the work neatly and precisely. I had R&B do a multi-step sewage/water line(hot and cold) and additional gas hookup job on my basement-level(below street)renovation. This was a complex(logistically) project. Each on-time visit was carried out efficiently. The job site was left in an orderly and tidy state when finished. Malcolm was knowledgeable, efficient and courteous. The office staff did a great job of scheduling and kept me apprised of any changes with plenty of notice. Overall, a highly recommended company and a pleasure to deal with. ~ Chris J

The quote given over the phone for a new gas hot water tank (Rheem 50 gal) was very reasonable, and the woman who took my call was very friendly and professional. The installer was also very friendly and professional. When he ran into a minor issue where he needed to go outside of the quote, mainly due to interference with the adjacent furnace's gas line being in the way, he was more than reasonable for the extra time and materials. I highly recommend R&B as I had a great experience with them, and will use them again in the future. ~ North V

I found this company really has it together from start (putting in order) to finish (removing old toilet and installing new one. Trying to buy a toilet nowadays with a myriad of choices, I suggested what I was looking for and price range. I was emailed some choices and very happy with results. I am older and having plumber bring toilet and take away old was great and all services very reasonably priced. The plumber was courteous, pleasant and efficient doing a skoocum job. R&B Plumbing designed and installed they hydronic heating system and all plumbing in my new home. We have never had a single problem related to their workmanship. Today ,my furnace was serviced by Byron who arrived early for the appointment which was a wonderful surprise because too often service providers promise specific times and are late or don’t call to provide an update. As soon as I met Byron at the door I was immediately struck by his appealing personality and professional demeanour. Upon finishing the task he explained the condition of the furnace leaving me feeling confident that all be well until this time next year when another inspection would be prudent.
